If you have a minor health problem for which you don't want to see your GP, your Chemist may be able to provide you with medical advice. Some medications that are sold only by prescription in other countries are sold over the counter in the UK, and vice versa.
If you want to see a pharmacist out of regular store hours, check your local paper for a list of pharmacies open outside of the usual hours.
Chemists are generally only open in normal busness hours. However in larger cities you can often find 24 hour chemists or chemists with extended opening hours that operates from the local hospitals.
