Staying in Touch

Most people want to keep in touch with friends and family. However, often we find it hard to find the time to do so. This can especially be true after a big move, a time when we need the support of our closest friends the most.

Stay in touch with family

Without putting a scare on anyone, a word of warning from our seasoned Culture Class expatriates is that the old proverb “out of sight out of mind” unfortunately often ends up applying to long distance friendships. 

After the first few months many expats find that they are the ones that put most effort into staying in touch with people back home.  For friends living in your old home life goes on and they too can struggle to find the time to stay in contact.

The key to stay in contact is to make it simple (and cheap).
