Nursery Schools

As much as each pre-school provider can be different, they all have to meet a certain set of minimum requirements. This means that all pre-school providers must;

  1. Be registered with the local authority to provide early education
  2. Work towards the early learning goals.
  3. Be inspected by education inspectors appointed by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED)

There is no automatic right for free education for three year olds, however in some parts of the Country parents can have access to free education.

Education for 4 year olds is planned by the Local Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership. Your local authority will be able to tell whether there is provision for 3 year olds in your area and about the choices available to you.
