Making Friends

When people relocate one of their biggest concerns is whether or not they will be able to make friends in their new country.  However, making friends is a concern shared by all people and maybe because of this, making friends is a lot easier than feared by most.

The British are a very social people and with all the immigration that continuously is taking place there are literally millions of foreigners whom at some stage have been in your situation.  Most of these people will be open to meet and befriend you.

Socialising and Networking

However, do not forget that most of them already will have friends and that whilst they will be welcoming it will be up to you to make the first move.

Social conduct in the UK is fairly informal and apart from a few subtleties it is actually difficult to do too many things wrong.

For information on the unspoken rules and tips and tricks to socialising in the UK you should visit the section Interacting with the British

Go to our The British Way section.

If you, like most newcomers are interested in meeting other expats, there are a large number of expat networks you can join. Visit our Social Networks section to learn more about our friends and their events.
