Welcome to Culture Class - February 09
It is good to see you!

Join our community

This, the new version of Culture Class which you are currently accessing, was launched on 01 February 2009. As a member of the team behind Culture Class, I want you to know how excited we are with the new layout and with the many new dynamic features we have included in this release.

We have been very busy since December 2008 when we released the first version of the web 2.0 enabled Culture Class. Based on the inputs we received from our users, we have changed the structure of the site so all content are sorted under the sections Relocation Zone and Cultural Training. This should make the site even easier to navigate whilst also making our price structure more transparent. Thanks for the input, and please keep the good ideas coming!!

With the changes to the Community blogging and using profiles have been made even easier. So get out there, or rather in there, update your profile, and start accessing all of the new free content and the forums etc.

February will see even more updates to Culture Class. In addition to the upgrades to the Culture Class Community we will also publish new content in the Cultural Training and Relocation Zone sections. It is exciting times indeed!

Have a great February!

Morten Bonde

Managing Director
Culture Class

P.S. If you can think of any additional tools or topics that will make Culture Class even more valuable to you please let us know and we will do what we can to include them in one of our updates.

February updates, Mingleplanet, and more...

Snow in London

Yes, you heard right!  In fact we had so much snow that they even closed the tube (the London Underground)...

One could wonder why, but it turns out that all but one of the London underground lines have at least one station stop above ground.

Take a look at the attached image to see just how bad it got.  I on the other hand was stuck inside all day, so I barely noticed the snow until most of it had gone.

Networking with Mingleplanet

Yesterday, Tuesday 11 February, I attended our friends Mingleplanet's first London networking event for entrepreneurs.

The event was rightly called "Get Inspired/Meet Other Entrepreneurs" and it was held in a really nice location with just the right welcoming atmosphere.  It was great people too, and I will definitely make sure I attend more of their future events.

February Updates

In the Cultural Training section we will later this month publish a new Job Hunting module. The module will include loads of information on how you can create a great UK style CV, how you can prepare for British interviews, how you can negotiate your salary, and the different types of contracts and permanent jobs you can get in the UK.

In the Relocation Zone we will publish a new module called Things to Do.  This module will contain updated lists of events for new and experienced expats, their families, singles, and the art lovers.  The module will be live on or before Monday 23 February.

Using the blog
There are two ways of using the blog.  You can either read other peoples blog entries or you can add you own.

If you decide to do that latter you will quickly find that nothing could be easier.

Simply log in to Culture Class and click “My Account” in the top of the blog window – that’s it! Culture Class will know to open your personal blog account (called My Blog Dashboard).

From this window you can edit existing blog entries and you can write new ones using our super modern and easy to use blog interface. Most people find that the interface is easier to use than Word :o)

To publish you changes or new blog entries click “Save and Close” and the blog entry will automatically be publish. That’s it.

Culture Class Loves Wahaca!
by Morten Bonde - Monday, 16 February 2009

Have you ever heard of Wahaca?  No, not the Mexican region known for some of the Mexico's greatest food markets. ... but the London restaurant (in Covent Garden) which for several years running have won the best cheap eat for The Observer and View London...

If not, it is time for you to find out.  It's a regular hang out for me and my better half and we went there for Valentine's Day this year... And it was GREAT.  Thank you Wahaca!

Check them out at www.wahaca.co.uk and go visit!  It's worth it!
