by Morten Bonde - Monday, 15 December 2008

Hello! By way of introduction, I should start by saying welcome to the Culture Class blog. My name is Morten Bonde and I'm the Managing Director here at Culture Class.

A few months back, we decided to give our users the opportunity to share their thoughts with us and the rest of the Culture Class Community ... and now we are finally there, ready to launch!

We are hoping to keep you up-to-date through these pages with what's going on with our various culture class sections and trainings, ideas of how you might use our content, new ideas, news and so on, but also we want to hear from you –your comments, ideas, and debate are all very welcome.

Snow in London

Yes, you heard right!  In fact we had so much snow that they even closed the tube (the London Underground)...

One could wonder why, but it turns out that all but one of the London underground lines have at least one station stop above ground.

Take a look at the attached image to see just how bad it got.  I on the other hand was stuck inside all day, so I barely noticed the snow until most of it had gone.

Networking with Mingleplanet

Yesterday, Tuesday 11 February, I attended our friends Mingleplanet's first London networking event for entrepreneurs.

The event was rightly called "Get Inspired/Meet Other Entrepreneurs" and it was held in a really nice location with just the right welcoming atmosphere.  It was great people too, and I will definitely make sure I attend more of their future events.

February Updates

In the Cultural Training section we will later this month publish a new Job Hunting module. The module will include loads of information on how you can create a great UK style CV, how you can prepare for British interviews, how you can negotiate your salary, and the different types of contracts and permanent jobs you can get in the UK.

In the Relocation Zone we will publish a new module called Things to Do.  This module will contain updated lists of events for new and experienced expats, their families, singles, and the art lovers.  The module will be live on or before Monday 23 February.

Culture Class Loves Wahaca!
by Morten Bonde - Monday, 16 February 2009

Have you ever heard of Wahaca?  No, not the Mexican region known for some of the Mexico's greatest food markets. ... but the London restaurant (in Covent Garden) which for several years running have won the best cheap eat for The Observer and View London...

If not, it is time for you to find out.  It's a regular hang out for me and my better half and we went there for Valentine's Day this year... And it was GREAT.  Thank you Wahaca!

Check them out at www.wahaca.co.uk and go visit!  It's worth it!

Create Your Own Blog
by Morten Bonde - Wednesday, 04 February 2009

Using the blog
There are two ways of using the blog.  You can either read other peoples blog entries or you can add you own.

If you decide to do that latter you will quickly find that nothing could be easier.

Simply log in to Culture Class and click “My Account” in the top of the blog window – that’s it! Culture Class will know to open your personal blog account (called My Blog Dashboard).

From this window you can edit existing blog entries and you can write new ones using our super modern and easy to use blog interface. Most people find that the interface is easier to use than Word :o)

To publish you changes or new blog entries click “Save and Close” and the blog entry will automatically be publish. That’s it.
